Bloomfield, CT, October 14, 2013 - Pratt & Whitney Measurement Systems' is pleased to announce the addition of a new accessory to enable measurement of large tapered thread plugs. The Sine Block Kit (#U308047) will enable measurements of pitch diameter of tapered thread plugs from 3.0-9.625 inches (75-244mm). This new accessory complements the existing Sine Block Fixture (#U307798) with a capacity of 0.06-3.00 inches (1.5-75mm). Both kits are compatible with the following Pratt & Whitney instruments:
- External Supermicrometer - Models A, B, C, and PC
- >Measuring Machine - Standard, Digital, and Laser models
The new Sine Block Kit can be used to calibrate any 1:16-taper, 60-degree thread gage using two thread wires. This includes National Pipe Taper (NPT), National Pipe Taper Fuel (NPTF), Aeronautical National Pipe Taper (ANPT) and American Petroleum Institute (API) class gages meeting these specifications, e.g., external tapered pipe threads, and API threaded tubular products and connectors. Aside from the Pratt Whitney instrument all that is required is a second elevating table, gage blocks, two calibrated thread wires and this kit. Applications larger than 9.625 inches (244mm) can be accommodated with a custom kit.
